Then he said "I have something to tell you now that we know that you and your baby are PERFECT." "Okay" I said. He goes "the week that your baby was born, we lost three full term babies. Their mom's came in in full blown labor and when the monitor was placed on them , there was no sound, no heartbeat, the babies were born dead at 40 weeks. Two were cord wraps like yours and one was unexplained."
Then he said "I don't know why your baby's heart rate dropped at the exact second that we placed the Doppler on you. Because if you will remember, there were incredible fluctuations. Why at that exact moment?? I can't explain why we heard what we heard, when we heard it. If we hadn't though, and I would have sent you on your merry way that day, your baby would have died. What I do know however is that without a doubt in my mind, your baby is supposed to be here and someone, somewhere loves both of you very much and was watching out for you that day and made timing perfect. I don't ever want you to forget that. Because three mothers were not that lucky."
So... to all of us who love our little PJ... let's remember together that she is a blessing to us and we need to never forget all of the wonderful days we will get to spend with her. And if you get a second... offer up a simple prayer on behalf of the three families in Murray, Utah who didn't get to bring their sweet babies home in their arms and be with them and feel their spirit in their homes.
And thank you Dr. Rappleye for being a very diligent doctor and giving us the chance to have a perfectly healthy and happy baby to love. Today I am grateful for doctors, who sometimes are right in tune with our heavenly father.

Wow, what a story. I am so glad that he shared that with you! Now to remember when she is 2 and 13 and 16 and all the other times when she is not "perfect"!!
Oh my gosh. This made me get all emotional! What a blessing. I too am so thankful for doctors. I cannot even imagine going full term and then losing my sweet little baby...I would be such a wreck! I am so thankful that Peyton is here and healthy!
Doctors ARE wonderful, especially yours. We will be forever grateful to him for being alert and on the ball. I am so sad for the mothers who lost their babies, what a heartbreaking time for them, I will say a little prayer for each. We will love watching little Peyton grow up and can't wait to see what she has in store for our family. She sure is gorgeous!
Thank you for telling that story! As if you didn't already appreciate her enough...you have more reason! My mother lost a baby boy at full term and a baby girl at around 36 weeks. It is heart breaking. She is most assuredly here for a very special reason! I will remember those families in prayer today.
AMAZING!!! That's all I can say about that. Simply AMAZING! You are so blessed. And deserve every bit of it. :)
