Day by day in Newport Beach

And so it begins...

Friday... we started the California Adventure with a pit stop to our favorite restaurant in Corona... Miguels. We were all tired and very anxious to get to our rooms to relax.

Here we are at the Newport Coast Marriott Resort. It is absolutely beautiful. The grounds, the rooms and the pools are unbelievable. Every morning it is overcast and then about noon, it burns off and it's never been over 75 degrees. We started by getting settled. We shared a room with the Hydes. And mom and dad and Kam and Brent are in a room down the hall.

Saturday...
The boys woke up at the crack of dawn and headed to the golf course... of course. Don't they look cute in their collared shirts and NO DENIM??? Their tee time was 11:15 and they wrapped it up at 6:00. Which would be the longest golf game in history right??? At 6:00, we got a text from Raleigh, informing us that the Angel's game that we thought started at 7:05 really started at 6:05... so since the boys were still on the golf course, Kami and I were shopping and the rest of the group was lounging at the resort... one can only imagine the chaos that happened as we grabbed cameras, hoodies, children, tickets, baseball gloves etc and made a mad dash for the stadium. We had a great time eating food that was WAY too expensive and watching the Angel's hit WAY too many home runs.

Sunday...
We woke up early and found a ward in a building right across the street from the Newport Temple. The ward was huge and completely filled to capacity. It is so wonderful that it feels the same wherever you are in the world. The best part of the meeting were the 9 year old sisters that sang a musical number. They had the most beautiful voices and I bawled through the rest of the speakers. I don't know why... but they really touched me. Sunday night we ventured Northward to attempt to have a nice dinner. However, that didn't materialize and quite frankly was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life and I started crying AGAIN and poor Raleigh did his best to make me comfortable and happy and probably wondered once or twice... "who in the world am I married to?" I don't lose it very often, but I sure did this time. It's quite a story. And certainly NOT the highlight of the trip.

Monday...
Was our One Year Anniversary. I will first start off by saying that it was the most perfect one year anniversary that a girl could ask for. We spent the day at the beach. I got a rice crispy treat. Raleigh took me to Flemings (a very expensive and classy restaurant in Fashion Island) with the most delicious food and then... he and I came back and watched the video he made of our first year together and I bawled my head off AGAIN... There were very significant parts that meant THE WORLD to me (whether he knew they would have the impact they did or not) he included all the right pictures and ALL THE RIGHT WORDING. He is the best husband on the planet. I am a very lucky girl.

Tuesday...
We left for Disneyland at 7:30 am. We saved a BOATLOAD of money on tickets because Brent has a few connections and we spent the day doing what you do at Disneyland. (Unless of course, you are pregnant) then you sit on a lot of benches and watch a lot of really weird people. But we really had a very fun time as you can see.

Hey Kac... I was thinking maybe at some point you could start looking like you are going to give birth? What is with those skinny legs? I am so proud to say I know you, you old, HOT chick. Truly and inspiration to those of us still in our 20s. It's NEVER too late to procreate, I say.
