Today is my 38th birthday. I share a birthday with my niece, Savanna and Aunt Sandy. And traditionally, my birthdays are not good. I usually end up working. One year Brayden broke his ankle and I spent the day in the hospital. One year, no one remembered. Last year, I spent the whole day crying because I had just been with Raleigh, but had to leave him in Orem as I drove back down to St. George by myself and I thought my heart would burst. Anyway.... today, the shear fact that I woke up and didn't have to go to work was enough to make it one of my best so far, but I also got a multitude of phone calls and my mom paid tribute to me on her blog and I had a family dinner with Raleigh's family and I spent the day with my favorite boy in Park City spending a truck load of money... And my little girl made it to Portland safely... This was my best birthday ever. And if I can get my hands on a white cupcake with butter cream frosting, I might even go so far as to say it was perfect. And it's about time, dang it.
There it is... PERFECTION!!!

Whew!! I'm soooo glad your day turned out happy, except for that Morgan part, but at least that happened in the morning and you had all day to recover. The shopping sounded fun, I can't wait to hear about what you bought. I hope this coming year is as happy as the last one. Happy Birthday! P.S. I just want to go on record that when Kaci said that one year "no one remembered" (or something like that), that just isn't true. Of course her mother remembered, we had celebrated her birthday a few days before with a trip to Park City, cake, ice cream, gifts, etc. and I did text message her with a Happy Birthday on her birthday, so I don't know why she felt so slighted...some days you just can't win when you're a mom!
Oh no!!! I just knew you would get all fiesty over that. You know I over exaggerate and flower up every story I tell. If you cut the details in half or double them depending on the circumstances then and only then will you get to the truth and seven times out of ten they will be darn near accurate. Come on... It's part of my charm.
happy birthday kace! so glad you have had a happy day. i bet it was hard to say goodbye to that cute daughter though.
a day off work, shopping, with someone you love, eating out....AND a cupcake...WOULD be a perfect birthday.
love you!!
Happy birthday to you!!! I think you are just the strongest mom ever. Putting your baby on a plane. But I am glad one more will be home soon. Too funny about your mom forgetting your birthday :) I get all defensive too cause my kids make it sound like I am a loser. But Nancy we all know better!! I hope your day is filled with magic! you deserve it all! Hugs Karen~ and I wish I lived next door and could toast you with a cupcake! Get your hands on one quick!
Happy Birthday Kaci. What a day. I love shopping in Park City. It is just fun!! Just hug them all and love them and have fun with life. You only get to live it once!!
So I remember a time when I forgot Kaci's birthday...OH YEAH I was in the hospital...CONVULSING...while my little baby girl was falling out of me in the sca with no one there to catch her...and my husband was on a date with some other woman???!! I think I was a little pre-occupied! :)
