I have given birth to 4 children. All of whom, I have been told by their teachers are above average intellectually. However, all 4 can at almost any time, and do on nearly a daily basis, demonstrate impaired judgement in certain areas (ie: cleanliness, decision making and time management just to name a few.) Which has led me to a conclusion over the years as I shake my head in disbelief... All 4 of them are clearly nuts.
Now... I have several flaws but up to this point, I have been unwilling to accept that I had a part in the insanity. I have blamed it solely on their other parent. It just made sense to do so.
But on Wednesday, we went to our 20 week ultrasound. We were excited to see the movements of our new little one, who by the way is still a GIRL. I imagined that she would be laying there and maybe kick a time or two, maybe wave... imagine my surprise when she grabbed the back of her knees with her hands and pulled her legs straight up over her head and flexed her feet. And with her body completely folded in half, she held that position for 5 to 7 minutes.
And so... sadly I am forced to arrive at the only conclusion that I can arrive at... that the WACKINESS is definitely coming from ME. Two different dads, same nutty behavior. And now I don't know what to expect from her. I was hoping against all hope to get a level headed, clear thinking child. One that would be calm and would think her actions through... like her dad. But based on what I saw, it would appear that LOONY seems to be the dominant trait. And so I will apologize to the world now, I have added yet another crazy person to the population. And we will have to spend the next 18 years trying our best to straighten her out before we completely release her into the world.
I have the raddest photo of the event however the hospital wanted $500 to publish it anywhere but on the cd they gave us... so if you are ever here, just ask and we will project it up on the wall for you. That would be 102 inches of pure gold entertainment.

Your baby does have a wacky mother but I think she was just showing off her athletic skills which she got from her dad!! She sounds really coordinated and talented to me! I'm sad that you can't show her picture on your blog, but we'll look forward to seeing it on the BIG screen. Don't worry about her, she's going to be wonderful, just like all the others!!
Oh my gosh I love her already. Who wants a boring kid who doesn't do back flips and gymnastics in the womb? What a funny story. And you are so darling to be the mom of 5 WOW. Now that does take some wacky to pull off so I think its a blessing. Enjoy every minute of this pregnancy. Sounds like you might have your hands full soon ♥ xoxo Karen~
I have always blamed looniness on my kids other parent as well. Do you really think it comes from our side?! I think she is just going to be athletic. It makes perfect sense. The fact that she held that position for 7 minutes... showing off... clearly the sign of an athlete, not a loon.
I agree...athletes DO run in our family ya know!! We have the broken noses and stitches scars to prove it!
Maybe she was just trying to get extra sympathy...LOOK at ME in here all cramped up and uncomfortable! She is already playing the FEEL SORRY FOR ME card. Kids...they are so smart!
But i also must say us Littles are a little wacky...but my looney child DOES get it from his other parent...NO QUESTION!
a future in gymnastics???
