When you are in retail you must.....
1. Put up your Christmas Lights 7 weeks earlier than your neighbors.
2. Work 6 days a week
3. Be in bed by 5:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, so that you can be to work on BLACK FRIDAY at 3:00 in the morning all bright eyed and bushy tailed.
4. NEVER say "Merry Christmas"
5. Try very hard not to sound like Scrooge when you speak of the Holidays
6. Enjoy the 3 1/2 hours a week you get to spend with your spouse to the fullest
7. Embrace the fact that you don't get to go anywhere for Christmas
8. Get all of your frustrations out on the 30 minute drive home from work so that you don't take it out on the kids.
9. Buy all the gifts for all of your loved ones at YOUR STORE because there won't be time to go anywhere else. "Here Allie... I hope you love your wireless router"
10. Find a way to spike your hot chocolate with caffeine or SPEED
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FRIENDS AND FAMILY... HERE WE GO... SEE YOU IN JANUARY

What a crack-up!! Welcome to 35 years of our life!! I had so hoped that none of our children would have gone into retail, we hoped they would have learned from us but some lessons are better learned than taught, I guess, so good luck with the holidays. Here's some good news...we hear no one is shopping due to the bad economy, maybe you'll get off an hour early!!
This one time I can say I am glad I dont live next door. Looking out at your Christmas lights would certainly have me saying"Look honey they have theirs up why cant we" I have my blog playlist all made with Christmas music, have my new background all picked out. But no lights! And no holly....So you are way ahead of the game! I sympathize with the retail junk. Nothing kills my joy more than someone coming in Christmas eve wanting a turkey? Keep your chin up, after all you have a new darling gift this year to snuggle under the mistletoe with! xoKaren~
