It's off to school they go

The day began at 7:00 am in OREM. Brayden woke up in a chipper mood and was ready to go at 7:04. Boys.... Anyway we left for LEHI at 7:30. Because we are not in our new house yet, we had to travel 20 minutes to Willowcreek Junior High. I dropped my boy off at one of the biggest schools I have ever seen and watched him walk in there by himself. He doesn't know a single soul. It was hard for me to pull out of the parking lot and I cried all the way home. When I got home, my wonderful husband not only had the girls up but they were dressed and he was making them breakfast while they danced in the kitchen to really loud music. Where in the world did he come from??? Then the girls and I left to make the 20 mile trek again. Morgan made about 5 friends in the first 5 minutes and ran off to play on the playground not even missing me or feeling sad. Allie was having a bit of an anxiety attack and was attached to my hip. Finally she told me she could try to be brave and she walked over to play basketball with some boys. I started bawling and so the other parents wouldn't point and laugh at me, I left and cried the whole way home again. Then I paced the floor and counted the minutes until I could go and pick them up. Brayden missed the bus home, but other than that... everyone apparently had fairly decent days and will most likely go back tomorrow. My sweet children... nothing in their lives is the same as it was last year at this time and yet they seem to be taking it all in stride. I think all the prayers must be helping them. P.S. Brayden is too old for first day of school pics

I'm glad the first day is over. I paced around all morning worrying about them, I'm glad that all went pretty well. By this time next week they should be in the groove and maybe we can relax until the next BIG event! The girls sure did look cute and I'm sure Brayden did too. Whew!!

Wow- a twenty minute drive 4 times a day?! That is crazy. I am glad that it went well. You really didn't say too much about Bray. Did he meet anyone? Did he have someone to sit with at lunch? It is so hard to start at a new school. I am having anxiety too just reading about it. However, the first day is always the hardest- and it is over! Yea :)

I'm having anxiety too about them all going to new schools! Agh. Did Brayden do ok? He is such a cute kid and so nice. I hope he finds some nice kids to hang with. When do you guys get in your house? Can we come help you move in?? Please let us know. We aren't that far away. And when things settle down we will for sure get our families together.
