We left for Oahu on Sunday July 13th. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 6:00 am and at 5:20, Kaci realized that not only had she left the camera back home, but all the money and her I.D. So a very calm Raleigh turned the car around and drove faster than normal to retrieve the NECESSARY and VERY IMPORTANT items. DUHHHH. Happily, we made it to our gate just in time to see Paris Hilton board our very low profile and quite frankly "ghetto supreme" plane. She was incognito, and yet drew all kinds of attention to herself. Raleigh had no problem sleeping and I was a nervous wreck. The last time I was on a plane was 1998. Pre 9-11 and all kinds of new airport regulations ago. I was like a nine year old following her dad, not knowing what to do or where to go or what to take off (are you kidding?? my shoes???) The trip home was even more entertaining...
We arrived in Honolulu at 11:00 am. It was humid and beautiful. We began our adventures by picking up our very cool Jeep and driving around. We couldn't check in until 3:00 so we ate and explored. We were all sleep confused and went to sleep at 9:00 local time and woke up around 5:00am.
We went to Wiamea Falls, the Dole Plantation and North Shore. We also drove by the Temple, but didn't get out. After an early dinner it was off to an early bed. The next morning, we found ourselves at Pearl Harbor. We spent nearly the entire day there. It was fun.
The next two days were beach days. We played in the water and got lots of great sun. But mostly had fun watching all the interesting people. And they were everywhere. We might have been the only normal people on the beach that day. One night we rode the fun free shuttle in the pouring rain to Ala Moana Mall and walked back to my favorite, OUTBACK.
We had a great time. I loved every minute of it and Raleigh either did too or is a very good pretender. I didn't think it was possible but I love him more now than a week ago. Thank you for a perfect Honeymoon, Honeybunny.
